Sharon Hospital provides hospital billing services and assists patients with submitting insurance claims or appeals. We also offer financial counseling for health care bills.
Hours of Operation & Contact Information
Our Patient Financial Services office is open from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. We are also available via email at patfinsvcs@sharonhospital.com.
Credit card payments are accepted over the telephone, with our registrars, or by our Financial Counselors here at the hospital, from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Billing Information
Billing and insurance can be confusing!
As a courtesy to our patients, Sharon Hospital submits bills to your insurance company and will do everything possible to have your claims processed. However, it may become neccessary for you to contact your insurance company or supply additional information to them for claims processing requirements or to expedite payment. You should remember that your policy is a contract between you and your insurance company, and you have the final responsibility for payment of your hospital bill.
Insurance & Managed Care Information
To make using our facilities and services as convenient as possible, Sharon Hospital participates in most insurance & managed care plans offered in the Tri-State Region.
Participation may vary by product and is subject to change. Access to Sharon Hospital may require an authorization or referral by your primary care physician or your managed care plan.

Patient Financial Services also recommends that you contact the associated billing agencies listed below to verify their participation in your healthcare insurance plan. Their participation may differ from Sharon Hospital’s.

You may receive additional bills for testing or from physicians who were involved in your care. A separate bill may follow for their services. Programs Available to those without Health Insurance
Sharon Hospital is committed to assisting with your financial needs relative to your health care.
For patient’s who do not have insurance coverage, there are alternative funding and payment plan options offered by Sharon Hospital. Our Financial Counselors will work with you to identify the options available to you based on government and hospital rules and regulations.
We refer our patient’s to our Financial Counselor’s at the point of registration if they do not have any insurance.

Local Assistance Programs:
Self-Pay Discount – If you do not have insurance coverage and are responsible for the payment of your healthcare expenses, Sharon Hospital offers an adjustment on the balance of your account if paid within 30 days of your visit or discharge. Please contact our Financial Counselors for further information.
Charity Care – is available to patients who do not have the means to pay for their hospital expenses and who may or may not qualify for government Medicaid. To qualify for Charity Care your household income must be below 250% of the federal poverty level. You will be asked to complete a financial application and provide verification of income or financial support.
PCN (Primary Care Network) – Financial assistance available for Sharon Hospital patients and participating physicians. Please contact Jim Hutchison at 860-364-4498 for an application.
